Word of Life International, Inc. (WLI) is a Faith-based and non-denominational Organization that was initially established in Liberia, West Africa in August 1998, amidst a prolonged 14-year civil war. It was founded in the belief that communities must learn to help themselves. Our work is founded on the following five pillars of faith:

- A duty to reach out to the less fortunate
- An obligation to lead by example
- An all-inclusive approach: We help everyone regardless of their religious beliefs
- Acceptance of the fact that we, too, may someday require assistance in our time of need
- The path to salvation lies in volunteering.

Since its inception in Liberia, WLI expanded its activities through Evangelistic and Community services programs and it presently has 5 churches and 3 elementary schools in Liberia, West Africa. Fifteen ministers and leaders have been trained for the pasturing and oversight of the Liberia Mission.

In February 2002, the Founder and General Overseer, through the grace of God, was granted permanent residence status to the USA. His migration led to the initiation of WLI activities in the USA. WLI was incorporated in September 2002, granted advancedruling status in March 2003 and was granted final tax-exempt status in May 2007 under section 501 ( c ) 3 as a public charity.

In November 2007, WLI purchased a set of facilities located 2100-04 Cemetery Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19142 and in April 2008, repairs on these facilities were started and lasted over one year due to the unavailability of funds

By April 2009, a zoning request was filled but was referred to the zoning board of the City of Philadelphia. Hearing was set for August 4, 2009. Following the zoning, our offices were opened and full mission activities started in September 2009.

WLI’s Culture – Our culture is rooted in the belief that all people, regardless of who they are, and whatever conditions they are in, seek opportunities to live life to its fullest. This is why we are striving to reach the unreached at all cost.
